Child and Adolescent Services

Growing up is a tough job. It’s normal for children to go through changes in the process of becoming an adult. But, dramatic behavioral changes such as fighting with friends and family or problems in school can signify trouble. There are times when children and adolescents need help too.

The child and adolescent services at Laureate provide care for the full range of behavioral problems that families face. Services focus on issues including depression, disorders of attention, substance abuse, school behavioral problems, impulse control difficulties, consequences of family violence or sexual abuse, self-esteem, anger, communication and social skills.

Many children and adolescents experiencing problems can accomplish their goals in an outpatient setting. Laureate offers qualified psychologists, licensed therapists, nurse practitioners and physicians when medications are involved, to work with children, adolescents and their parents/caregivers to gain positive long-term results through regular outpatient visits.

Laureate also offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents requiring a short-term, concentrated outpatient program. IOP utilizes a group therapy approach designed to help patients achieve permanent changes by addressing lifestyle, attitude and behaviors that may undermine their efforts to cope with life.
